Putting in the Energy
Training initiative for unemployed young people
Making it possible for young people who have not yet found job training positions to get a start on their careers - that is the aim of our “Putting in the Energy” initiative. The program was successfully launched at the Staudinger site in 2006. Every year up to 20 young people aged between 16 and 24 are given a place in the job promotion program.
The program is divided into two phases. A three-month training course, which includes general courses in German, mathematics and IT as well as vocational counselling and job application training, is followed by a seven month long internship in a company. Throughout the project the participants are given intensive counselling by a social worker and thus receive individual support. E.ON's partners in the implementation of “Putting in the Energy” are the employment agency in Hanau and the Gesellschaft für Wirtschaftskunde e.V. (GfW), also from Hanau. The success rate for the years 2006 to 2011 shows that the strategy works: More than 80 percent of the participants obtained a job training position after their qualification program.
