Staudinger power plant - a clean performance for the environment
E.ON Kraftwerke consistently focuses on technologies that help the environment effectively. Why? Wherever primary energy carriers such as coal are used to produce energy, substances are created which, at high concentrations, are regarded as air pollutants. This means primarily nitrogen oxides, dust and sulfur dioxides.
We only allow out what is fit to be out
A great deal has been invested in the purification of flue gas and the measures we have put in place are on a scale similar to the workings of a chemical factory. Nevertheless, we do everything in our power to ensure that environmental protection in conventional electricity production is not a contradiction. The Staudinger power plant is a perfect example of this. Environmental protection is given a high priority, using state-of-the art burner and firing technology.
In the future, the Staudinger power plant will be setting new standards in the field of environmental technology. The planned new power plant block will be one of the most modern hard coal fired plants in the world. The latest flue gas purification technology makes it possible to emit fewer pollutants than in the past, in spite of doubling electricity generation.
